Contract Type: Hourly, Full-Time (55 hr/week), Seasonal, Days, Early Mornings

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 2 Years of Relevant Experience

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-Toed Safety Boots

Work Environment/Conditions: Field Work (in all weather conditions), Work Environment Exposes the Employee to High Levels of Noise, Grease, and Dust that is Typically Associated with a Construction Site

Physical Capabilities: Physically Demanding; Lifting, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in concrete forming, poses strong communication skills, a high level of enthusiasm, enjoy working in a team environment and have the ability to learn quickly.

As a Concrete Former, you will play a critical role in supporting and assisting the construction team with achieving their business objectives with the following responsibilities:

  • Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them
  • Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed
  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float
  • Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, joiners, and straightedge
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
  • Assist Foreman whenever needed
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Load or unload construction materials
  • Operate and care for construction equipment
  • Perform site clean-up
  • Follow all company health and safety requirements
  • Work as a team member and communicate respectfully with coworkers

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Physically able to lift up to 50-80 lbs
  • Willingness to work overtime
